Meaning of ” Not Humanize Dogs”

By Pilar Garrido

Dog psychology tries to understand “dog´s bad behaviors”  from a canine perspective rather than from a human perspective. Anyway all of this behaviors are natural behaviors for dogs, we just try to redirected to do it in a way that the humans do not feel it is something bad. Par example, we teach dogs to chew a con againts than to chew our forniture.

Because we are very close to dogs and they are a great part of the familly and companions to us, it is easy to thing that they feel and understand the world like humans, but it is not. They smell, see and lisent totally diferent than us, so the perspective of the world with the information they recived it is totally diferent. It is nothing bad in accepting them and love them for the way they are. It great thy hace the hability of semlling a cancer in us before than a doctor or to find eassyly people working as a police dogs. Tv series like  Lassie, 101 Dalmatians, Lady and the Tramp, Bolt, and others had made people thing that doggies feel like a human, but do not forget that is a just movie with do much training work in the back with the dog and the handler, the doggie is just happy playing and following orders of his loving leader-trainer .

However, it is umpossible that we can feel this world like a dog, and the same way I dog can not feel like a human. I dog has fellings, of course, but understand the information in his way and it is nothing bad on it. So it is human who train and it is human who needs to try to understand them to have a better relationship.

Humanizing a dog causes miscommunication between human and canine, which can result in a variety of dog behavioral issues.

For example, many dog owners love to say goodbye and hello to their dogs when leaving and entering at home, thinking that that will make feel the dog confortable, happy and secure and ting that the dog can understand what they are telling to him, but the reallity is that human behavior creates insecurity, nervous and problems of separation of anxiety.
